The Henriquez Family (Nuni)

Yunel "Nuni" Henriquez is father of two little girls. He has always worked hard to provide for his family. He has been traveling while working for Prime.
On December 6th, Christynn (his wife) received a call while Nuni was away for work in Oklahoma. He felt ill and managed to call for emergency help. He was transorted to a small hospital. He was showing stroke like symptoms. His left side was very weak. After a CT Scan it was aparent there was something not right with his brain. He was then transported to a Trauma 1 hospital, St Francis in Tulsa Oklahoma. At 12 noon Christynn was notified Nuni had a mass taking up aproximately 1/3 of the right side of his brain. The Doctors at this point were unsure of what this was. Nuni had to have emergency surgery before his wife and family members could make it to his side.
Nuni had an abscess in his brain caused by two different bacterias. One in the staph family normaly found on the skin and another bacteria normally found in your mouth. He did not have a stroke as origionally thought. The pressure from the abscess caused the left side stroke like symptoms.
Since December 6th Nuni has had to learn to re walk and work on his speech. He has a speech therapist, ocupational thereapist and physical therapist working with him everyday. His is showing great improvements and will have to continue with therapy.
Nuni is on very strong antibiotics to kill this bacteria. The antibiotics are IV only and he will have to be on these for an estimated 7 weeks.
Nuni will not be able to fly home due to the brain surgery and it is a 22 hour drive from Tulsa, Oklahoma to Saddle Brook, New Jersey.
Unfortunatly there was a laps in Nuni's insurance and he is not currently covered.
This is going to be a long difficult journey for Yunel, Christynn, Mia and Myla.
Family on both ends have come together to help as much as possible. They will now be a one income family and the medical and household bills will be stacking up. Nuni will not be able to work for some time as he continues to heal and recover. This will take time.
We as a family ask for your help in getting Nuni and his family a bit of financial peace in this very difficult time as they sort out all of the medical expenses and work on getting Nuni home to NJ.
Having an abcsess of this size in your brain normally does not have a positive outcome. Nuni is blessed to have gotten the medical attention he needed in time.
