The Heal World Project

              The Heal World Project started out as a simple idea: let’s talk and argue less and instead write and record an uplifting song that will bring some joy hopefulness light healing and inspiration to as many people around the world as possible during a hard time.
             That song turned out to be “Heal World ”.
             Even though the musicians involved (all longtime members of the musical group Ed Hale and the Transcendence) were separated by lockdowns in 5 different states, we decided to attempt to do it all virtually, choosing whatever studios and audio engineers we could find, record our parts separately and then piece all our parts together afterwards.
             Without both the generous spirts of the musicians and studios and the brilliant audio engineers we never would have been able to pull it off.
             The most important aspect of the “Heal World ” song project was to just get the song completed, so we can spread it around the world in as many formats as possible to as many people as possible. To lighten inspire heal bring hope and enliven others.
             Despite the fact that most of the musicians and studios and engineers and videographers have been out of work for almost a year, everyone believed in the mission and came through, working for free or at greatly reduced rates or for IOUs.
            Our FIRST GOAL for this GoFundMe campaign is to make sure that all the musicians, studios, engineers and videographers get paid something for their work. (The team of videographers who volunteered to create the music video for the song have put in at least  200 hours of editing and haven’t been paid a dime yet. Although as artists we LOVE this kind of flow and passion, we also understand that they deserve to be paid.)

         The minimum amount we are setting for the campaign is the breakeven amount just to cover the expenses incurred so everyone involved gets paid for their work and there are no more outstanding IOUs left sitting around.
          What we’d LOVE to see happen in all honesty is to crowdfund enough from the song and this campaign to actually compensate the musicians and engineers and videographers more than what they’re expecting through IOUs to help them a little bit if possible through this very challenging year for artists.
          It’s no secret that musicians and every one in the music business has been hit hard from the lockdowns and is facing tough times. So our goal is to reward all these incredible artists who gave so freely and generously as much as possible. To literally make them cry from joy and gratitude for giving of their beautiful selfless work and spirits.
             Once word spread about the song “Heal World ”, we were soon contacted by a variety of other musicians from around the world who also wanted to contribute to the song. This portended we were going to end up with several different versions and remixes of the song.
            The first official version of the song and the music video premieres on Friday December 4 on all music streaming and video services. At the moment there are now TWO MORE additional versions and remixes of the song being created, to include more musical artists from all around the world, and to hopefully reach a wider variety of music lovers globally.
             The SECOND GOAL for this GoFundMe campaign, after making sure all the musicians and engineers and videographers are paid for their work, is to help pay for some PR and promotional campaigns to help virally spread the the song to as many people around the world as possible. The music business shut down this year. PR firms and promotion companies have been hit hard. Like so many other industries. 
              So our goal is to give some much needed business to some of these companies to create a win-win. They get some business. And in return they help spread the positive message of the song around the world more. Win-Win-Win.
              As we contemplated the song and it’s mission more deeply... it occurred to us that once the basic expenses of recording and the music video and promotion costs were met, we still have an amazing opportunity
to help heal the world even more.
             What if the song weren’t just a song? What if it were a “HEAL WORLD” MOVEMENT? Where do we need healing the most..?
              We decided that the most pressing needs right now seem to be people being unemployed and HUNGRY. So we have decided to raise and donate as much money as we can to the non-profit FEEDING AMERICA in the name of the song. We looked them up. They’re the real deal. They’re efficient dedicated and really doing the job that needs doing — feeding hungry Americans waiting in food lines that span blocks in many major cities across our nation.
              Our idea is a simple one: the more people who SHARE THE SONG AND VIDEO, the BETTER the world FEELS, and at the same time the more this GoFundMe campaign spreads. The more the GoFundMe campaign spreads, the more money is raised to help musicians in need and help regular people who are short of basic necessities like food.
               As musicians and artists we know it’s not a “cure all”. We know it’s just a song and a simple crowdsourcing campaign. But we hope it will have a positive impact on the world in as big a way as possible.
