The Geoffrey E Norton Memorial Scholarship Fund

Geoffrey Norton was a life-long Salvation Army musician, who loved and appreciated all kinds of music. Because of this love of music, and his unwavering commitment to encourage and show support to all musicians he came in contact with, his family would like to set up a scholarship fund in his name.

Each year, one deserving student in a post-secondary program studying music (education, theory, vocal or instrumental), will be granted $1000.00 from this fund to assist with the costs associated with tuition, equipment, and all things financial. Eligible recipients will submit a written essay prior to July 1st each year, detailing their passion for music, how they have mentored others, what their goals and dreams are, and why they believe they are deserving of this grant. The Norton family will carefully examine each submission, and select the student that we believe exemplifies the many fine characteristics of Geoff (encouragement, dedication, discipline, passion etc.) to receive these funds.
