The First that Burnt #Niland

Hello everyone,  My name is Genesis, I'm from a family of four, I'm the older daughter. We lost our home and everything inside it because of a massive fire that occurred on June 28, 2020 in a small town called Niland. Niland is found in a county near the border of Mexico called Imperial Valley. Our house fell as the first victim of the fire. This massive fire started around 6pm and it started to spread around 7pm. The strong winds during the fire were not helping. At first my family and I thought that the fire department where already taking care of the fire that had started behind some apartments. The main fire was a great distance from us since we were not able to see the flames, just smoke. But then we noticed a lot of ash starting to fall towards our block. The wind started to carry them but then we noticed that some pieces of embers landed on a tree of ours. We started to put out the small fires that started within our yard. But then behind our house we saw a huge fire had began. When we saw the huge fire, we knew that we were not able to do anything. My mother noticed that some of the gas lines were bright red so we ran. Under all the panic we only could think about saving ourselves and our pets. Once we got out an officer told us that we needed to head north down highway 111. But we had a problem, we did not have a car to use. My father was currently working and he had the only car. We did not know what to do but then a kind neighbor ran to us and said that we could take one of his cars. So we did and drove down the highway. We evacuated to a hotel found in our town. From there we heard four explosions, they were coming from our house. My sister had a small panic attack from all the stress but we managed to help her. By 9pm we arrived at a hotel located in the next town; that is were we are currently staying. The next day we went and found our house burnt to the ground.
