The Fight to be Cancer Free

On February 27th, my family's life changed drastically. My dad was diagnosed with cancer in his throat, tongue and right tonsil. Everything happened so quickly, from discovering the lump to hearing that awful word, cancer. He met with a team of specialists and treatment started on April 13th. There will be seven weeks of chemo and radiation. He gets radiation Monday through Friday and chemo every Tuesday. On Monday, April 27th, the third week of treatment began and while it has been extremely difficult, he has shown the most remarkable strength through all of this. 

My parents did not want to ask for help, but it is needed. My dad is not working right now due to COVID19 and the cancer treatments. Within two weeks, he will use all of his paid time off for work and will still have two weeks of treatment left, plus months of recovering. His oncologist said today that he, most likely, will not be able to return to work full-time until at least August or September. I truly believe that people should not have to worry about how they are going to pay their bills while fighting for their lives. And believe me, he is fighting so hard. I had to do something while feeling so helpless in every other way. 

I also know that this is not an easy time for most people due to so many businesses being shut down because of the virus. Any little bit will help and will absolutely not go unnoticed. Pray for my mom and siblings who are helping with his care at home and having to watch him struggle and suffer. Pray for healing and for him to be completely cancer free when he finishes his treatments, hopefully on June 1st. Thank you in advance from the absolute bottom of my heart.
