The father of a daughter and the man that was loved dearly

Donation protected
Hello,
We are the Rodriguez, Berman family We truly appreciate you taking a moment to read and share our loss.

On the morning of May 10th, Zet Rodriguez headed to work after saying goodbye to his newborn daughter and partner. A block from his home, he was stopped and robbed at gunpoint. During the robbery, Zet was shot in the chest. Hearing Zet’s agonizing cries for help, brave neighbors ran outside to provide first aid and called for paramedics. Despite the courageous efforts of neighbors, paramedics, and the emergency room staff at Loyola Hospital, Zet passed away during surgery.

Zet leaves behind his partner, Lillie, and their 6-month-old daughter, Isabella. Zet and Lillie had recently confirmed that they are expecting their second child.

For our families and community, the impact of his violent and sudden murder is made more difficult by the now-present absence of a father, partner, son, brother, and contributing member of this city. Zet was a graduate of Noble Street College Prep, a DACA recipient, and a graduate of Albion College, Michigan. In 2022, with a psychology degree in hand, Zet returned to Chicago to begin his career in social work and help individuals struggling with trauma, depression, and addiction.

Zet was his family's primary income earner. We are raising funds because Lillie is left with the immediate and overwhelming responsibility of covering the funeral expenses and becoming their children's primary financial provider.

All funds collected will pay for Zet's funeral expenses and provide financial support to Lillie, Isabella, and the expected baby.

Hola,
