The Eye Which We Do Not Have 2022

Donation protected
I lead a team of rag-tag puppeteers who are tumbling through the development of a dark and cinematic, but live puppet show, The Eye Which We Do Not Have, set to premiere in NYC in the spring of 2022!!

An eerie, yet powerful psychological tale about suppressed female desire, The Eye features bunraku-style puppetry, toy theater, rod puppets, and a transforming set. It is accompanied by an original symphonic sound design. With a nod to Hitchcock, its cinematic style points to a constantly shifting perspective.

We have been blessed so far with enough support to cover three development residencies in 2021. This is, hopefully, our last fundraising push! We need $10,000 to cover one more residency and the production itself. Thank you for your generosity!

This fantastic event will not be possible without support from the people who make art happen, YOU! Your donation will pay the puppeteers, composer, lighting designer, director, stage manager, puppet fabricators, and costumer. It will purchase materials, transport the set, and cover space rental for building and rehearsing the show.

Read on for the exciting 2021 journey of The Eye Which We Do Not Have (with pictures!)

In the summer of 2021 we had our first IN PERSON residency since COVID. It was in beautiful upstate NY at the NACL theater.

In October we moved into Abrons Arts Center on the lower east side of New York City for several weeks of building and rehearsing!

Then we piled the puppets into my van and headed to Cambridge, MA for a week-long residency at Harvard University!
