"The Epic of Desmond James" Art Show Fundraiser

Donation protected
New Orleans Artist Charles Anderson, known for his painted blazers, gun violence activism, & large-scale portraits of New Orleans youth, is asking for your help for his new art project, "The Epic of Desmond James."

For one year, Charles will play the role of Court Artist to a system-involved youth, documenting his quest to find meaning in life. Modeled after Rubens' De'Medici cycle in the Louvre, the end result will be six paintings of king-sized proportions. Charles will craft content for classes so that the model can see the possibilities of his future through the activities of reading, writing, speaking, creating, and thinking. The hope is that the process of the project, both the classes and the physical artwork, will liven the model's vision with meaning in his life.

The end goal is to raise $20,000 for the model's educational fund through sales of the artwork, merchandise, and NFTs.
