The end is near. Help Khan's family.

Afghanistan is on the brink of total collapse. My friend Khan (nom de guerre) has lived a career supporting the legitimate Afghan government and the US mission to Afghanistan. His personal actions as an ANA senior noncommissioned officer and an interpreter for US Special Forces were essential to the survival of many American service members and Afghan civilians alike.

This support has come at great cost. His attempts to save himself and his family from the Taliban have been exhausted; lost in bureaucratic red tape of the Special Immigrant Visa program. He has therefore chosen to stand his ground in Kabul and defend it to the end.

Khan will fight to the death, just like he was willing to for me and my Special Forces ODA. This Gofundme is for his wife and children who will lose their father when the Taliban take the city and the entire country. Please help me raise funds to help his family survive. -JL

Accountability is important. Here is what will happen with your money. 

Course of Action 1.  Pending coordination with Khan, I will withdraw these funds and initiate a SWIFT wire transfer to his account. At this point, he will have full discretion on the use of these funds. I will post a receipt verifying this transaction occurred.

Course of Action 2. Unable to contact Khan or his family. The money will be transferred to a legitimate NGO whose primary mission is to serve internally displaced peoples in Afghanistan. I will verify which NGO you will be funding. You will have an opportunity to request a refund. Once that window closes, I will transfer funds to this NGO.
