Greetings, friends!
It's been some time, but thanks to your help, we were able to complete more story shoots that will be published in volume 1 of our book 50 Lives/50 Truths: Reimagined Through Art. We are now only 3 photo shoots away from finishing our first volume (exciting)! This fall, we'll be working with an illustrator on cover design with an intended release by Fall of 2024.
During the past year, we were fortunate to have the opportunity to recreate previously shot stories as sets, spaces, rooms, and interactive media on the Community College of Baltimore County's Essex campus (Fall of 2022) for students and visitors to walk through and interact with. It was truly a collaborative effort to pull it all together - students, fine and performing art classes, faculty, local artists, friends, and family, etc. We came together and pulled off not only an amazing and engaging art installation, but a safe space for visitors to talk about mental health and share their own thoughts, experiences, and art.
We'll be holding another interactive installation this Spring (2023) on the CCBC Catonsville campus. Stay tuned for more updates on that!

Your story matters. Your journey is important.
Unless you're a magical unicorn-alien hybrid immune to the human experience, you most likely love and know someone whose world has been impacted by mental illness, trauma, abuse, addiction, grief, and the big S word...suicide. Or maybe that someone is you.
The goal here with The Empty Hourglass Project is to share your story. To recognize the strength and courage it took to get where you are, to connect, and to inspire and restore hope in those who've been dealt a similar hand in life.
SO WHAT'S THE PLAN, STAN?!
TO BE PUBLISHED:A collaborative photography book (50 Lives/50 Truths: Reimagined Through Art) between models, photographers, hair/makeup artists, set designers and more to recreate 50 personal accounts told through conceptual photography of mental illness, suicide, trauma, abuse, grief/loss, and addiction.
We're talking the full gamut here! In order to bring this to fruition and match the vision in my head, we need to implement the help of all kinds of artists who do what they do best. Funds raised will be used to cover the cost of materials for set designs, studio rentals, U-Haul rentals, wardrobe, props, publication costs and most importantly, the publication process (including cover design and printing so we can get these books in your hands!).
I realize this will not be an easy feat, but it's one that feels necessary. However you're involved, I hope you're able to take from this what you need. Be it validation, courage in the face of adversity, a swift kick in the pants to make a change in your life or just enjoyment from seeing the process unfold.
