The Elemental School is an outdoor nature school for children ages 4-8 years old.
It is a play-based, mindfulness focused and grounded in the elements of creation: Earth, Air, Water, Fire, and Ether

Children today are next level, and we are experimenting with next level education, combing the best of Waldorf, The Forest Way, and other alternative models to create an education that can serve these children of the future.

We are starting with this small school in Guatemala, with the intention to start a global movement of modern education that fosters the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual growth of children.

The curriculum is designed and facilitated by Anjili Russell and she combines her own researched insight stemming from and focused on a new wave of childhood education through the lens of yoga philosophy.

Based on Anjili's personal research, the school will focus on nurturing and developing all four aspects of a child’s identity:

Physical 
Mental 
Emotional 
Spiritual

Through age-appropriate academics, movement, music and stories, children will learn, understand and interact with the natural world using investigative play, hands on learning, and the creation of and participation in projects focused on the 5 elements of creation:  

Earth
Air
Water
Fire
Ether

The school will begin operation in a small community in Guatemala, with the idea to expand to various locations around the world as a full-time alternative to traditional schooling. 

The project will be operated under Sangha Relations , a brand that was created by Anjili with a focus on children, families and community relations and we are working towards becoming registered as a 501-C3 in the USA.

Opportunities and vision of expansion are already in play with ideas of creating a prototype that can be used in other communities around the globe, empowering and supporting parents and caregivers to take new wave of ideas in education into one's own community, family, and child's life.


The funds that are generously offered now for this project will be used to:
~prepare a donated piece of land for use
~secure the land with walls, stairs and entrance
~construct a simple, open air classroom with roof
~simple outdoor kitchen
~garden & seeds for growing food
~educational materials and typical school supplies for school
~nutritious snack and lunch
~clean drinking water
and a very modest stipend for teacher and volunteer support.

In addition to funding for the preparation, building and daily operation of the school, 15% of support received will be shared with other existing social projects in the community including

~Free Yoga and Art classes with indigenous children
~~Offered by Sangha Relations
~An after school arts program with indigenous children
~~Offered by LaCambalacha
~A food program that feeds over 100 children a nutritious meal every morning in this community
~~Offered by Konejel
