An important piece of Seattle history needs your help!
Located in the heart of Wallingford, on Seattle’s north end, Earwig Studio (formerly Jupiter Studios // Crow Recording) has been an integral part of the Seattle music scene for more than 35 years. Known for its incredible live room and intimate vibe, it has been a host to many locally and internationally acclaimed artists.

-The Posies

-Duff McKagen’s Loaded
-The U Men

Engineer/Producer/Mixer Don Farwell took over this historic space in 2016 and has continued the tradition of producing world class recordings for countless local and national acts. Recent clients have included Year of the Cobra, The Finger Guns, Stereo Creeps, and Rain Light Fade (shameless plug), among multiple others. Many of these local artists have been featured prominently on Seattle’s airwaves, including KISW, KEXP, and The End.
Don is nothing if not passionate about the local music scene because he has been a part of it his whole life. That’s why he has worked so hard to help local artists and bands by giving them an affordable way to get their music out there.
And now, it’s our turn to help Don.
Here’s the deal- like many other local businesses, Don has had to keep Earwig’s doors shut for the past 3 months due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He has also lost many of the studio’s summer bookings. Because of these factors, as well as a sharp rise in commercial rent this past year, Earwig is in trouble.
Because this studio has been like a second home to us in Rain Light Fade, we are calling on the local community to help raise enough funds to keep Earwig running until Don can get his feet back under him with bookings.
Our minimum fund-raising goal is $7000. This will cover one month of expenses for Don. Anything that comes in above that will go towards future months.
NOTE: ALL donations are going directly to keeping Earwig afloat, nowhere else.
So if you have recorded at Earwig/Jupiter/Crow, if you are a friend of Don’s, or you just care about the arts and preserving an important part of our community, then we’re asking you to please give something. Anything. And every little bit helps!
Also, if you are a band, book some recording time at Earwig- you won’t regret it!
