The Dr. Amie Harwick Memorial Statue

Donation protected
The Dr. Amie Harwick Memorial for Victims of Domestic Violence will be a 7' bronze and stone monument that will feature a plaque dedicated to the women who have lost their lives to domestic violence. It will serve as a place for people to gather and take solace and also an inspiration to live our lives as fiercely as she lived hers. This permanent memorial will be installed in the world-famous Hollywood Forever Cemetery which is in the heart of Hollywood.

Dr. Amie Nicole Harwick was an accomplished therapist, a published author, an outspoken champion of women, and a well-known Hollywood personality. In the early morning hours of February 15, 2020, Amie was murdered in her home Her killing was a senseless tragedy that robbed the world of a brilliant and talented woman who was just hitting her stride in life.

While she is now buried in her hometown of Lansdale, Pennsylvania, she left behind hundreds (if not thousands) of friends in Los Angeles where she lived for most of her adult life.

For a detailed overview of the project please visit The Dr. Amie Harwick Memorial Project Site

Every dollar makes a difference! Even if you can only spare a small amount, every dollar will go to a monument that will last more than 100 years. It will be a place that you can visit and know that you were part of its creation; that you helped tell her story. We know that we have quite a few dollars to raise to make this happen but we are going to persevere for as long as it takes.

Here is where the money is going (initial estimates):

Statue Design, Sculpting, and Casting in Bronze: $47,000
Base Design, Sculpting, and Carving in Stone (possibly casting), plus Bronze Plaques: $29,000
Freight Fees: $5,000
Two Adjacent Cemetery Plots at Hollywood Forever: $70,000
Cemetery Installation and Care Fees: $24,000

Once the statue is installed, any remaining funds will be donated to a domestic violence charity in her name.

Even if you can’t donate right now, you can still help us by sharing this site on social media. You can help by telling others about Amie’s story and you can help by reaching out to people who may be experiencing domestic violence.

If you are experiencing domestic violence, call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233. All calls are toll-free and confidential. The hotline is available 24/7 in more than 170 languages.

This is just an initial concept. The final design will be done in consultation with friends and family.
