The DePaul Mittman Track

The Guilford County Board of Education recently approved the naming of the track at Western Guilford High School to honor the beloved coach, DePaul Mittman. 

Coach Mittman's contributions to the sport of track and field extended beyond Western High. He co-founded the North Carolina Track & Cross Country Coaches Association (NCTCCCA). He continues to serve as the North Carolina High School Athletic Association Indoor State Meet Director, a position he’s held since 2001. 

He is a humble leader who demonstrates integrity and concern for his students both on and off the track. 

To celebrate Coach Mittman and his legacy, we want to install a permanent sign at the Western Guilford High School Stadium. Help us reach our goal and celebreate this honorable man!
