The loss of Danielle Moore has left a gaping hole in our hearts after the tragic crash of Ethiopian Airlines flight ET 302 on March 10, 2019. Danielle was on her way to the UN Environmental Assembly in Nairobi, where she was recently chosen as one of Canada's youth delegates. Through this fund, her family and friends wish to carry on her mission for environmental and social activism.
Danielle was only 24 years old, but in her short time had already touched the lives of many people and communities across Canada. Her passion for the environment flourished during her marine biology studies at Dalhousie University. Through her work with Ocean Bridge & Canada Learning Code in Winnipeg, Northern Ontario, and Iqaluit, she had become a strong advocate for finding sustainable solutions to protect the environment and championing Indigenous rights, such as supporting the Spirit of the Buffalo Camp in Manitoba. Danielle also grew to understand that the biggest impact you can make is to provide students with the right tools to make a positive change through their education, and was excited to have been accepted into teacher's college at the University of Ottawa, starting in the fall of 2019.
With her loss, we hope she inspires others to carry on with energy and focus to make the world a better place. The family plans to put these funds towards environmental and social issues that reflect Danielle’s passions and spirit.
The official beneficiaries of the funds raised through this GoFundMe campaign are Danielle's parents, Robert Chris Moore and Clariss Moore. They will update donors on what projects the funds have been spent.
