On Saturday, March 17th my dad was rushed to the hospital with shortness of breath and chest pain. Upon arrival he was immediately rushed in for a CT scan confirming a massive blood clot in his lungs. What followed was the beginning of a horrendous traumatic life changing event. Upon being administered a blood thinner medication he went into cardiac arrest. In a small ER room my “big teddy bear of a daddy” laid on a gourney surrounded by an amazing team of the ER performing CPR for the first of eight codes. He came back every single time! We all knew he was fighting and we weren’t going to give up. That’s when a outstandingly confident surgeon made the decision to perform emergency open heart surgery. After almost 8 hours of my dad being out of our sight, my mind began to imagine a life without my daddy, it began to paint a scary, sad and lifeless image. In the surgery they opened up his rib cage cleared his heart and lungs and managed to put him back together, something that was no easy feat. Miraculously my dad pulled through, but his fight is far from over!! Currently we are all at his side but we’re not sure how long this can continue as medical expenses begin to stack up!! If you can spare any amount of money, please don’t hesitate to donate to this fund, all money will go towards covering medical expenses and allowing my mom to stay with him during this scary and uncertain time of need!!
