The Crisis of Missions Documentary

When we survey the state of evangelical churches in the west and global missions as a whole, it has become clear that things are not well. There has never been another time in history with more missionaries, evangelistic activity, conferences, campaigns, and programs, yet there is an undeniable awareness of the lack of power in our day. Behind the facade of glowing statistics, growing mega-churches and the plethora of new missionary programs there is little actually being done to reach the lost with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The command to go into all the world and preach the gospel has in many cases been redefined, or abandoned for pragmatic approaches, social causes, and humanitarian work. The biblically prescribed means of reaching the lost is no longer palatable to the modern church member. New methods and strategies have been developed in place of the old “outdated” methods of scripture. But how did it get to this point? What has gone wrong?  This film will seek to uncover the heart of this crisis and to offer the solution.  

We are in need of a great reformation within the church in the west.  We believe this is a much-needed work in our day, and we’re praying that the Lord uses this film to challenge, encourage, and equip the church to reach the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  This documentary is being produced to call the church of Jesus Christ back to the simplicity of the Great Commission, in order to reach the world with the Gospel, for the advancement of the kingdom, and to the Glory of God. 

With that said, there is a great deal of work which still lies ahead to complete this film.   I am an independent filmmaker with no Hollywood budget.  In fact, up to this date, all filming and traveling have been done at my own expense.  Completing this documentary will require many more hours of time, travel and expenses.  I will be traveling to many locations around the United States, including up to 4 additional countries to film interviews with Missionaries and Pastors.

The estimated completion date is contingent upon funding, but if the target goal is met I am aiming to have it completed but the end of this year, 2021
