The Cox's Family

Many of you know that the Coxes were dealt a tough hand this fall, when Kate, the oldest daughter, was diagnosed with Guillian Barre Syndrome, a rare condition where the body's autoimmune system attacks the nerve lining of the body's muscles. Kate was hospitalized for 10 days at Abbott. Once she was discharged she had multiple appointments weekly. Kate needed help with everything she did from walking, to eating, to pushing buttons on the remote control. Her mom was approved leave from work to care for Kate, but it was unpaid. And for those of you who know Kelly, also know there is not financial support from a required party. Kate had to withdrawal from St Thomas University and move back home, this lead to a significant loss of her tuition as well. There is good news though! Right before Christmas, Kate had made remarkable progress and her therapies were discontinued! Her mom was able to go back to work the 1st of the year; however they are behind in medical and household bills and owe sources that kept them afloat. They are so thankful for all who have helped them during this time with food, rides and financial gifts people have given. If you wish to help it would be greatly appreciated.
