The Cloer Family Cancer Battle

This page has been set up to help a family near and dear to my heart. Jerry and Kelly Cloer are a local family in Statesville Nc. Jerry is on his third battle with his cancer. This family is not reciecving help from goverment agencies as they go by your tax returns from the previous year. Jerry was told his job of 18 years would be held for him but recently was informed he has been let go. This family is at risk for losing their home and everything they have. They have two children Logan 14 and Logan 12. For most of us this time of year we are buying gifts for Christmas for our children but for this family that isn't an option as buying a gallon of milk is a struggle. . Their children don't expect any Christmas presents this year.This community is full of kind hearted people. I know times are hard for most this time of year but even a $5 donation can help this wonderful family who so desperately need help right now. He was first diagnosed with adenocarcinoma (small intestine cancer) and went through surgery December 9th 2014,......came back last summer, he did 25 rounds of radiation and took 3,500 mgs of xeloda a type of chemotherapy pill, was considered to be cancer free August of 2015. Then it came back this summer, we found out in June that it had grown from the size of a nickel to a quarter in less than 3 months. It's on The Root of the Mesentery, a place between his spine and the wall that holds up the stomach and intestines. We go December 15th to see if surgery is an option, but last time we had this discussion last year, the doctor thought because of where it's located he was afraid the risk may out weigh the reward. As in, it could leave him paralyzed for the rest of his life, or possibly hit a main artery and cause him to bleed out. He still has 4 more rounds of treatments, that is if the doctor feels he should keep going.
