The Clinic Art Project: Partners in Abortion Care
Don protégé
Art has the power to drive real change. It can bring calm and inspire courage. It can speak to the collective and remind us of our connection to something greater than ourselves.
In the wake of the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, abortion clinics need our support. While art isn’t the only answer, it is an important part of the response.
In a time of great upheaval, art can help ground these critical healthcare facilities—and remind providers and patients alike that they are not alone.
What can be done?
This Fall, a new abortion clinic is opening in Prince George’s County. Partners in Abortion Care will provide expert abortion care—including later abortion care—in an affirming and supportive environment. It will serve patients from our community and beyond as many patients are now being forced to travel to receive abortion care.
To support this new clinic in our community—and stand with the reproductive rights movement—local artists from Prince George’s County have started The Clinic Art Project.
Together with volunteers from our community, we will complete a mosaic art installation before the clinic opens this Fall. The installation, which is being led by Valerie Theberge, is designed to infuse the clinic with positive, creative energy.
How can you help?
This is a community project, and we are calling on our community for your support. The artists are donating their time and talent, but we need your help to cover the cost of materials and installation assistance.
Greater Good Strategy has generously offered to match the first $5,000 raised. Any funds raised beyond the project's scope will be donated directly to Partners in Abortion Care. For your records, these donations are not tax-deductible.
