The Chris Smith Daviot Memorial

Chris Smith was one of the original Davit Lads.
He was raised and lived in Daviot for many years before he moved down south, and even long after he’d left he always considered it home.
As well as being an awesome friend, Chris was quite a runner. He competed with Team GB in mountain running championships, holds the record for the Bennachie Hill Race, and took any opportunity he could to run. In October 2020 he was out doing just that whilst on holiday in Perthshire, but this time he didn’t make it back, and devastatingly lost his life.
As Chris’s oldest friends, we share so many brilliant memories of him from our time growing up here that we will never forget. That’s why we're working with the Daviot Community Trust to create a memorial to Chris back home on the fond grounds of the Daviot estate. This will be a place where Chris will always be remembered but will also be a place that local families and future generations can enjoy for years to come.
We’d be so grateful for any contributions from the local community to enable the creation of the special place in memory of one of Daviot’s most special sons.
