The Chicken and the Egg

"Sten Alex and Ruth Children's Home" was registered in Malawi in 2012 and our goal is to become increasingly more self-sufficient. Alex, the 'founding father', has been wanting to raise chickens for a long time and I am hoping to make it happen through this campaign.

Our objective of raising chickens is to have both a regular supply of meat  for the home as well as be able to generate an income by selling them at the local market.

The start up cost includes all expenses. A batch takes 8 - 14 weeks to mature. Maize and soy from our fields will be used as the primary feed and the chickens will grow up "free-range".
We are committed to giving a percentage of the proceeds to families in the nearby village who are also in need.
