The Changeling Girl - help us get to Fringe!

‘The Changeling Girl’ is a devised piece of theatre that explores the experiences of autistic and neurodivergent people. Our director, Anna, started writing this piece because she was frustrated by the representation of autistic and people in the media (or lack thereof). We want to challenge the idea that autism has only existed for the last hundred years or so, since the word autism was first used. Autistic and neurodivergent people have always been a part of our societies and communities, and we deserve to see ourselves in history and in media.
Representation is so important because being different can be extremely isolating, especially when being different causes you to be misunderstood. We want to challenge the current representation of neurodivergent people and offer something more authentic, something created by neurodivergent people themselves. Our hope is that people of all neurotypes will be able to watch and enjoy this story. If you are neurodivergent, perhaps you will see elements of yourself in this show, if this is something you don't have experience of, perhaps you will gain a greater understanding of what it's like to be neurodivergent. We need your help to tell this story. We need to raise £2000 to be able to take this show to the Fringe, any amount that you can give, big or small, will be so greatly appreciated.

We are so excited that DramSoc members voted for this piece to get the financial grant to head up to the Fringe, but we need further help and support in order to help our team make it there & keep the experience accessible for us all. Fringe is 6 weeks away... any small donation you could possibly make will go a huge way in helping us deliver this amazing and important show the way it deserves to be shown!
