The Bookwallah Fundraiser

Bookwallah is a non-profit organization, centered in the U.S., that focuses on bettering the lives of orphans by creating and maintaining libraries and safe spaces where they can escape hardships and immerse themselves in storytelling.  They target orphanages in developing nations, but are extensively involved in India. 

Our goal is to raise $2,000 for the renovation and maintenance of an orphanage library in Mumbai and another in Pune that houses children with HIV and AIDS. Additionally, your donation will help fund activities for the children such as attending field trips, restocking books, and renting movies that correlate with the lessons and messages of the books they are reading at the time.

This fundraiser is one faction of the many projects Bookwallah and it’s volunteers have established and maintained throughout India.

ALL donations are welcome, but these prizes are available for greater donations:

$25-$75: Handwritten thank you card from girls
$75-$150: Bookwallah tote
$150-$300: Artwork made by the girls
$300-$500: Picture book coaster
$500+: Video from the children with additional overview of how donations contributed
