The Anime Survival Kit

Donation protected
The Anime industry is globalizing fast, and anime is benefitting from the talent of artists from all over the globe, but there is a problem currently that animators don't have a reliable and centralized place to learn the technical side of creating Japanese Animation in English.

This book will be the only book animators will need to learn all the technical knowledge necessary to be able to participate properly in one of the most inspiring and beloved industries in the world.

This book will not only help new and experienced animators with technical terminology, processes, and guides, but it will also be a boon to the Japanese industry because all the foreign animators will finally have all the proper knowledge to prevent causing problems for the Japanese productions.

This book will also help take the burden off of veteran staff who are too busy to mentor or teach about how anime is made.

Funding:
Developing a textbook of this scale is going to take hundreds or thousands of hours of work, editing, and research. The funding will go toward paying workers for their time and contributions to the book as well as providing a budget for a physical run of books.

Artists and Animators are very busy so we need to be able to pay them for the time they spend on contributions to the book.

After the book is completed it will be sold in physical book format and e-book format and be available online for all hobbyist and professional animators to have a reference book that they can be confident in and that helps advance their careers.
Here is the breakdown of the funding goals.
Minimum Goal: $10,000

-This will cover the cost of research and writing if Tonari Animation writes and designs the entire book with minimum outside help.
-The book will be released online as an E-book for sale on the Tonari Animation website. It's not determined yet, but it will either be donation based sales, or a set price of $15.

Ideal goal: $25,000
-This goal will give us the funds to hire a professional book layout designer, and editor

-It will also give us the funds to hire some industry professionals to take time out of their busy schedules to review the accuracy of the information, provide feedback, or even contribute entire sections or drawings.
-This will pay for the inventory of a limited 200 unit run of physical copies of the book & pay for the book print layout set up.

Stretch Goal: $30,000
-This will allow us to double the amount of physical copies to 400 for the initial run.

*No raffles, sweepstakes, giveaways, or returns on investment are offered in exchange for any donations made to this GoFundMe
