This will not be my first marathon but it will be my first marathon raising funds for something I am truly passionate about, helping animals in need.
We rescued our dog almost 2 years ago from The Animal House Jamaica. Once I found this group on facebook, I knew I wanted a 'Jampup' and to help support this shelter in whatever way I could. I qualified to run Boston a few months ago. So many people use this legendary marathon to raise funds and awareness for charities so I thought, what a perfect opportunity. Running a marathon is no easy task so I look forward to running Boston with extra motivation in my heart knowing I will be providing a little help to this fantastic charity.
The Animal House does so much for animals in need (there are so many strays and abondoned in Jamaica). They co-ordinate everything when it comes to adoption! The state they find these poor dogs in, you can imagine their vet bills. They need help paying for vet bills so they can continue to save these precious animals. Also, they need the financial support to help run and maintain the shelter.
