Bring back the A.R.T.

A.R.T. Academy will be a community space to rebuild connection and inspire creativity. We will be building an interactive art museum where the art will come alive and create an entertaining playhouse for adults and children to interact with one another. In addition, we will provide an after-school program for children, as well as the option for adults to join.

The funds from this campaign will go toward:
·    The purchase and remodel of a building venue
·     Filing art grants for our artists
·     Providing infrastructure for staffing the academy
 
Classes will consist of (but will be not limited to):
 ·       Music classes
·       Painting
·       Carpentry
·       Gardening
·       Dance
·       Virtual reality
·       Visual Arts

Our vision is to provide a space for people to be able to express themselves and share their passions with the world. Learning should feel good and it should inspire individuals to find their inner passion. We will be working with schools in the surrounding areas to allow our after-school programs to provide students with school credits to be able to graduate. 

Our focus is to provide a brighter future for at-risk youth.  "Arts education doesn't take place in isolation," said NEA Chairman Rocco Landesman. "It has to take place as part of an overall school and education reform strategy. This report shows that arts education has strong links with other positive educational outcomes." These positive outcomes include: more children obtained a bachelors degree after graduating high school, more people voted, read instead of watched tv, and spent their time volunteering instead of causing trouble on the streets. 

Since Art and music have been taken out of school curriculum we are here to bring it back! Everyone deserves to feel welcome, appreciated and comfortable to be themselves. We are planning to provide confidential counseling sessions, and suicide awareness classes to help inspire uplifting others along with building your own personal self-esteem, and human connection. 

 
The first step of this process is finding funding towards the purchase of a property. We have been diligently working towards finding a property in the Southeast San Diego area. We feel the children in these areas will benefit the most from this academy.
 
The next step will be the remodel of the property to create a well structured, safe and unique playhouse atmosphere that we envision. Through this remodel, this venue will revamp a previously abandoned and/or dilapidated building, adding color and life back to the community.
During the remodel, we will be helping our artist collectives acquire art grants to be able to build the most important thing: The ART!!
 
As a certified charity organization, we will be able to provide you with a tax-deductible receipt for donations to this campaign.
