21 Club Run for Youth Mental Health

1 in every 7 young people are affected by a mental health challenge such as depression, anxiety, and substance use disorder every year. Many of those live in silence due to stigma and lack of understanding.
'Livin' is a charity with the vision of breaking the stigma of mental Health in order to help promote wellness and positive living for all young people. With a small specialist team operating throughout Australia, LIVIN are engaging with people on a stigma reduction and empowerment program called LIVINWELL. The program is designed to enhance mental health literacy and understanding around mental health challenges and suicide preventive measures among young people. Teaching people the skills at a young age, LIVIN's fundamental goal is to make a generational change.
The 21 Club was set up by a number of mates, who as students, make up part of the demographic that this charity supports. We decided it would be a positive symbol of our appreciation to raise money for those of us suffering and spread awareness doing so to let everyone know ‘it ain’t weak to speak’. The best way that we could do this was to get a group of 21 of us 21 year old's to run 21 km in an effort to raise AU$21,000. Hence, we like to call it the '21 Club'.
The '21 Club' will be running in the Brisbane Marathon Festival on the 5th of August this year (2018) so this is our goal deadline. Between now and then, the boys will be dusting off their joggers and training hard in order to prepare for the event.
All donations to the '21 Club' through this platform will go towards 'Livin' and will benefit the young Australians who are silently suffering with mental health challenges every day. Regardless of the amount, it all makes a difference!

We have now received authority to fundraise on behalf of ‘Livin'. With their help, our team's goal is to engage in 'out of the box' fundraising activities as opposed to simply asking for donations.
