Thank You Eva the Great

Hey! Are you one of the extremely blessed people in the world that has had a chance to eat some of Eva Nyemah’s delicious cooking?

Remember your time in Ghana when you sat down to a delicious plate of peanut soup and rice with sweet pineapple and juicy mango on the side? Or the time you feasted on “red red” or jollof rice with a spicy pepper sauce that blew your eardrums out? Or maybe when African food became too much and you were comforted by her yummy shepherd's pie or enchiladas as “a taste of home?” If you were fortunate enough to have a birthday whilst in Ghana you may have been treated to a spectacularly decorated birthday cake - and I am sure you also got to enjoy wonderful cookies, sheet cake, and lemon bars for desserts some days. Eva definitely has a talent for cooking and baking!

If your mouth is watering right now (and it should be), I want to share a need with you. Eva as you know, came to Ghana after fleeing the fighting in Liberia. She is a strong Christian, is a committed member of her church, sings in the choir and worked hard for many years helping Lee and Michelle Sonius and serving and feeding all the hundreds of people who came through their home.

In the last couple of years Eva has been caring for her niece and nephew and helping to get them through school. Her family of one became three. This challenge she has taken on joyfully but not without great sacrifice.

Recently, Reach Beyond decided to close the Ghana office. Lee and Michelle have relocated to the USA for now and Eva no longer has a job. She had started a small business selling cookies at the gates of the international school. It has gone well. Eva needs to equip a kitchen much better in order to expand this business and try to make a life for herself and provide for her “kids”. She needs a good oven, utensils, and supplies.

For this reason we are opening a “Go fund Eva” page for this month of December to see if those of us who love and appreciate Eva can bless her with a gift of $5000 dollars.   Any amount that you can spare will be hugely appreciated and I know it will be seen by Eva as a sign of God's love and care for her.  Before you give, please consider Eva’s service and life and the sacrifices she has made over many years.  Would you consider giving sacrificially too?

On behalf of those who know, love and appreciate Eva, THANK YOU!
