Camryn's Life in Crisis

In memory of Cassie: October, 2001 - January 29th, 2020

Hi, my name is Camryn (or at least it will be) and my life could be accurately described as a waking nightmare. Here's a nonexhaustive list of all the garbage I'm having to deal with right now:

1. My dad has prostate cancer. Thankfully, it seems to be responding well to treatment, but it's still a massive source of stress and a heavy drain on our financial resources.

2. Cassie, my cat of 18 and a half years went into kidney failure and had to be euthanized. She had already lost her two brothers to kidney disease and lymphoma in the course of less than a year. She was a tough little fighter, but we couldn't afford dialysis, so we had to treat her with fluids and a diet change. She kept fighting and purring until the very end, but, ultimately her kidney disease won and we had to put her to sleep on January 29th, 2020. She'll live on forever in our dreams and in our hearts. Rest in peace.

3. My dog has torn the equivalent of her ACL and we can't afford to pay for surgery, so we're having to keep her on painkillers, but they make her stomach upset, so she doesn't eat as much as she should and occasionally vomits up all her food.

4. My grandma fell and broke her hip. She got a replacement, but her balance has been permanently impaired and she can't live independently. As such, my parents and I moved into her house to take care of her. She still treats the house as "her house" and charges us rent despite the care we provide her, but at this point, we don't have the money to move anywhere else. Which is a shame because...

5. I'm trans and I haven't been able to start transitioning because I'm afraid to come out to my grandma because she used to be intensely conservative, she has temper issues thanks to a stroke she suffered a couple decades ago, and I worry she'll kick us out once she learns that she's harboring a "degenerate" in her house.

6. I've been saddled with crippling medical debt thanks to a surgery my insurance wouldn't pay for, and speaking of debt...

7. I'm going to be burdened with nearly a hundred grand in student debt because I lost almost all of my scholarships and grants due to a really rough semester where I was suffering from depression. Speaking of...

8. Depression. I'm taking meds for it. The meds work, for the most part, but it still feels like the walls are closing in on me. I've already contemplated ending it all more times than I'd like to admit. Having all these other pressing issues doesn't help either.

To put it bluntly, I'm on a razor's edge right now and I need help.

I need money to take care of my dad and my furry family. I need money to pay off my debts. I need money to get HRT and start transitioning. I need money for a safety net in case my grandma boots us to the curb.

I need a fresh start. Please. I can't go on like this.
