Texas Activists Support Human Trafficking Victims

Donation protected
Two young brothers fleeing Central America's rampant violence were headed to the Texas - Mexico border to seek asylum when they were kidnapped and thrown in the trunk of a car for several hours even as it crossed into the United States. In Texas they were held captive in a stash house with others who were also trafficked and held against their will. The two young men were growing weaker from being deprived water or food for over a week, when an opportunity to escape arose and the younger of the two helped his brother escape, toward the end dragging his brother's body to a road until he could flag down a car that took them to a hospital. They were severely malnourished and dehydrated and the eldest brother now requires a feeding tube is and extra hygienic care.

The former asylum seekers who are now refugees and victims of human trafficking are being cared for and protected by South Texas LGBTQ+ activists. Before their escape, the young men’s mother was extorted for ransom and didn’t get her sons back, and one of the young men left behind a wife and infant son so that the boys could find work and send money back home where poverty and food insecurity make every day a struggle to survive. The Activists are asking for your help to get these young men healthy, get them the support needed to deal with the trauma they endured and to get them the legal aid needed so that they can stay and work legally in the U.S. and care for those they love.

The South Texas border region is one of the poorest areas in the country with three of the poorest cities in the country, but we have learned to make the most of what we have and we have learned how to stretch every single dollar. Any donation you make will go directly to the health and wellbeing of these two young brothers. They will need follow up medical care, long term housing, legal assistance and basics such as groceries, medical supplies, etc. We are not sharing their actual pictures to ensure their safety and the safety of the LGBTQ+ activists. A recent study by Doctors Without Borders showed that 67% of migrants fleeing Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador have experienced the murder, disappearance or kidnapping of a relative before departing their home country and 42.5% reported the violent death of a relative over the previous two years.

Please help us welcome and support these two brave young men while they heal and find their way in their new homeland. If you're an attorney and you can help please reach out. We need help now to keep them safe and nurse them back to health. Any $ amount will help. Thank you in advance for your kindness.t the
