Hi, everyone, I'm Denis Ooi, and this is the gofundme for the short film "Teufel".
The premise of the film is about overcoming and silencing our inner demons.
My last couple of years has been a roller-coaster of a ride. I've experienced some incredible highs as well as some crippling lows. During the bad time's I was forced to confront my inner demons. As dark as these times were, these experiences made me stronger. Fortunately I have an amazing circle of friends who motivated me to live life fearlessly and unapologetically.
"Teufel" (German for Devil) plays with the idea that everybody has a figurative devil in their head, and no not the little red guy with horns and a pitchfork.
It can take many forms such as insecurity, hatred, anger, addiction, jealousy, racism, etc.
We're all guilty of saying or doing things that we're not proud of and that we've come to regret. The question is, do we let this negativity define us or do we overcome it?
Synopsis
Meet Ed (Pete Dorton). He's finally about to go on his big date with Leanne (Mitch Roberson). Enter Damien (Denis Ooi), Damien is Ed's biggest critic; he's obnoxious, rude and downright hurtful. Things get interesting when Damien shows up and interrupts Ed and Leanne's big date.
This is where you come in. We need your support and donations to bring this project to life. We will be shooting in June; your donations will go towards the film crew, food, equipment rentals and festival submissions.
Distribution:
We will have the first screening in July at the AGR Monthly Film Challenge in New York City.
From there on we will be submitting the film to Film Festivals all around the world.
In a final phase somewhere down the road, we will make the movie available online.

Denis Ooi - Producer/Actor/Writer - Damien
Denis Ooi is a British/Swiss/Singaporean actor and has starred in multiple short and feature films. Denis has also been in a number of commercials and industrials for companies such as UBS, Fed Ex, and the NYPD. In 2017 Denis was featured in Disney's marketing campaign for "Pandora: The World of Avatar, he also hosted the opening opening the park sharing the stage with James Cameron and Disney CEO Bog Iger. Denis has also appeared in three New York City plays including Shakespeare's A Midsummer Nights Dream playing the role of Egeus.

Pete Dorton - Producer/Actor - Ed
Actor based in New York City originally from Ohio. Performed on stage in various roles, produced plays and hosted events. Founder and Artistic Director of YOLO Theatre Company and founder of Big League Theatre Company. I've appeared in film and television, most recently on the Travel Channel with Samantha Brown. Just finished acting in the short films "High Deny" and "Ellie's Perk". My short film "Lou" which I produced and starred in, is currently in the festival circuit.

Mitch Roberson - Actress - Leanne
Mitch Roberson is a Brooklyn born actress who resides in Prospect Heights. She has performed in a few shorts and independent films. Whether it’s a feature, a short or a web series, in front or behind the scenes Mitch always enjoys the process. She states “I feel acting is a craft like no other." I love when we as artists are involved in the creative process of breathing life into a story. To lose yourself and transcend into another being is breathtaking to say the least. If those watching, become lost and transcended as well, it’s at this moment I feel the characters and story have truly come to life.”
Monique Paulwell - Actress - Lucy
Originally a singer looking for more artistic expression, Monique began her acting career in musical theater. She studied at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts and has enjoyed a career in commercials and print. Monique is thrilled to be involved in "Teufel" and collaborating with this wonderful group of creatives.
Miguel Garzón Martinez - Director/Editor
Miguel is a director and screenwriter from Bogotá, Colombia, with a strong passion for philosophy, living new experiences and telling stories that defy conventional boundaries. During the three years that he lived in Los Angeles, he directed several short films that have participated in festivals such as Bel-Air, Silent River, Women's Film Festival and Action on Film, where he won an award for Best Directing with his short film "Knot." His first feature film, "The Broken Legacy", has been screened at the Manhattan Film Festival, Hoboken International Film Festival, it also won Best Actor at the Gwinnett Center Festival and Best Film at the Pasadena International Film Festival. Braulio Lin - Sound Mixer
Braulio was born and raised in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, by Taiwanese parents. He moved to New York City to study filmmaking at NYU, where he trained under sound mixer Larry Loewinger, CAS. Braulio has recorded sound for over 70 different projects including feature films, shorts, documentaries, commercials, corporate videos, live events, concerts, and podcasts. Braulio is proficient with production and post-production sound.

Sam Diaz - Composer
Sam Diaz started his music career at the age of 12 when he picked up his first pair of drumsticks. As an experienced and professional drummer/pianist he has played with many popular jazz musicians in the Florida scene such as Arturo Sandoval and Ed Calle.
Now a days, he is a CAIFF award winning composer and film editor whose work can be heard on countless short films, commercials, and movie trailers such as Monster in my Swimming Pool, Tethered, The Bar Series, Lady in the Walls and so on. His ultimate goal is to serve the vision of the film by enhancing it with a rich and compelling score.
