Terry’s Third Heart

UPDATE-- By now, you know that Terry received his new heart, but sadly the issues working against him were too great and he passed away, Sept. 2. Thank you for the prayers, love and support for this family. Terry just couldn't believe the outpouring of love from you and it moved him to tears. These funds will be such a help to Gina in the coming days. May God bless each of you for generous spirit.

Not many people use enough heart to need THREE in one lifetime! Our friend Terry Akins has done just that. Like everyone else, he was born with a heart. He needed another one 17 years ago and now he needs another heart plus a kidney! He will be admitted to Vanderbilt Hospital on Monday, August 10, and will remain inpatient until he receives the transplants he needs. Terry’s insurance is different than it was 17 years ago and the expenses are many. Housing is not covered, as it was last time, and Gina needs to stay in Nashville before the surgery as well as six weeks after the surgery. Several other healthcare costs are not covered either. Expenses are heavy. Please help our friends, Terry and Gina Akins, through the next step in this difficult healthcare journey.
