Terry's Battle with Breast Cancer

On June 12, 2018, Terry Edwards begins her battle with breast cancer as she will be undergoing a double mastectomy.   Terry's husband, Reggie is disabled and unable to work from an accident at work at year ago, leaving her the breadwinner of the family.  She needs the funding raised from this campaign so that she and her husband will be able to pay for everyday living expenses as well as the ever-growing medical bills once she goes off payroll from her job during her recovery.   Her job,  Activity Manager of Recreation and Volunteer Services at MacGregor Downs Health and Rehabilitation in Greenville, NC, is where she faithfully serves her residents with a cheerful and loving heart, creative programs that fulfill their lives daily, and a respectful atmosphere for our aging population.   Not only does Terry serve God and her community through her life's career path, but she serves the younger population as well.  She undertakes an abundance of high school student volunteers each summer through the Health Sciences Academy of Pitt County Schools so that they can be provided with a hands on educational experience.  Furthermore, Terry has established an ongoing working environment for students with cognitive and/or physical challenges so that they also may come and serve the residents of this facility.   East Carolina University students are also embraced  through her department as well as many local churches.  The kindness and true generosity of Terry's heart has extended beyond anyone's imagination and beyond what she has ever thought possible.  

For someone who is a nurturer, caregiver, and true servant of God, this is definitely one of the most trying times of her life.  However, Terry is no stranger to life's trials.  At 22 years old, her son Daniel passed away at home in her arms after his long battle with Duschenne Muscular Dystrophy.  Her daughter Cassie, is currently serving her country in Afghanistan in the ongoing battle for our freedom.  

I urge you to donate to Terry's campaign.  It's time for Terry to be the receiver of goodwill instead of always being the giver.  She is an inspiration to all and is now in need herself of the kindness and generosity of others during this difficult time in her life.  As Terry once said, "You have to have a spirit that you won't allow to be broken."  I know with your help she won't be broken.  Thank you.
