Please join me in making a difference? I'm raising money to benefit the Terrebonne Fine Arts Guild, and any donation will help make an impact. My name is Kathy Rhodes and I am an active member of the Terrebonne Fine Arts Guild. I also chair the Hurricane Ida Recovery Team.
The Terrebonne Fine Arts Guild was organized in 1963, 58 years ago, to promote art and art culture in Terrebonne Parish. We are an exhibiting non-profit Gallery located at 630 Belanger St. in downtown Houma, LA.
The Gallery sustained a large amount of damage from Hurricane Ida. We would like to raise money to at least cover our deductible of $5000 but will really need more to complete repairs.
We lost our double carport which was connected to our workshop and covered our storage building. This caused damage to both the outside and inside. A water mitigation crew tore out part of our workshop. We need new ceilings, floors, attic insulation and some wall and closet repair. The winds blew the storage building off the blocks. We have to have it raised, leveled, doors changed and a new roof. The fence needs to be replaced along the driveway and backside. Insurance does not seem to be paying much for fencing.
The back entry door needs to be replaced. We need all the siding replaced but don't know yet if insurance will cover it all. Probably not.
We lost a supporting column at our front entry and had a temporary post put in. The new post is $550 plus the labor to install it.
We are desperately trying to reopen in time for the Christmas season which is our best time of year. We offer handmade ornaments and original paintings by our member artists. There is no better gift than giving the gift of art from local artists.
We have suffered the last 2 years having to close because of COVID and finally when we were moving ahead Hurricane Ida took us out. We are crippled but not broken. With your help, we can repair our gallery and get reopened. Thank you in advance.
