Mike Terrazas Family Fund

Mike Terrazas had a stomach ache in early October that kept getting worse.   In the early morning hours of Oct 10, he was in so much pain that he woke up his wife, Amanda, and had her drive him to the ER.  Emergency surgery was performed to remove a stone from his bile duct .  Mike spent most of October hospitalized at Spohn South, where he was in almost constant pain, and failed to recover.

On November 4, he was transported to Methodist Hospital in San Antonio for treatment of necrotic pancreatitis.  He turned 42 on November 6, and was put on intravenous feeding on Nov 8.  He had lost 25 lbs.  While there he had two more  unsuccessful surgical procedures, and on November 18th, he had an open pancreatic necrosectomy, his 4th surgery,  to drain the infection and remove dead parts of his pancreas.  

Before all of this started, Mike was planning his next Jujitsu tournament in Houston.  Now, he recovering from surgery number 4 and planning surgery number 5.  He has been unable to  work for the past 6 weeks, and officially went on FMLA earlier this month.   All of this is taking a toll on the family's financial resources.   While Mike works for a great company with very good medical insurance, there are many things that health insurance does not cover, like phone and electric bills,  mortgage and property taxes, and a Christmas tree with full stockings for 5 kiddos.

Mike and Amanda have always opened their home to family and friends in need.  How many of us have enjoyed a big Terrazas family cook-out by the pool, or cut loose at one of their famous Halloween parties???   I know there are a lot of us who will not buy a car from anyone but Mike, because we know we can trust him to be there when we need him.  

Now is the time for us to be there for Mike.    Give what you can and keep the prayers coming.
