Teri Saben is a long-time resident of Skagit County. Anyone who has met Teri knows that she is sweet, sharp, fun and a complete joy to be around. She adores her son Scotty and his family. Her greatest joy in life is watching her grandchildren grow and being involved in their lives. Teri is a treasured employee in the commercial loan department at Skagit Bank, where she has charmed the hearts of co-workers and customers alike.

In the Summer of 2017 Teri’s health began to decline and she could not enjoy the activities she loved, such as traveling, hiking and riding her bike with her partner, Jerry. Eventually in the Fall of 2017 she received the diagnosis that she had Stage 2 Multiple Myeloma.

Since the diagnosis Terri has undergone both chemo and radiation. Throughout the treatments, Teri has kept a positive outlook on things and never let her beautiful smile fade.
Recently, Teri received the news she needs to have a bone marrow transplant in Seattle. Luckily, modern medical technology has advanced so the doctors can use Teri’s own bone marrow, which has a higher success rate. Her doctors are optimistic and confident the procedure will have a positive outcome. Teri's stay in Seattle will begin in mid-March and last until June.
During the bone marrow treatment, Teri must stay near the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance that will be overseeing her care. She plans on residing in the Pete Gross house but she must have 24/7 care from family members as well as friends. We are raising money to help Teri in this time of need. An event like this brings about unplanned needs for expenses from taking time off work, travel costs, living costs and unforeseen medical expenses.
