Teresa's Medical/Rehab Expenses

Donation protected
A couple of weeks ago, my friend Teresa climbed to the top of a telephone pole and stood on top of it to see things from a new perspective.  Teresa is terrified of heights but she is also the bravest person I’ve ever met.  She is courageous because she is honest.  She is bold because she knows when she something is larger than she is.  She is fearless because she can ask for help instead of giving up and drowning.

Last month she entered an in-patient treatment program in Mississippi because she knew that she didn’t have enough in her own personal war chest to fight what was closing in around her.  And while my New Jersey/Colorado friend ASSURES me that she will leave Mississippi with a proper working knowledge of “Ya’ll” and “Bless Her Heart”, I am far more proud of the way she is learning to change her perspective while she is there.

If you have ever been lucky enough to be in Teresa’s bubble, you know that her heart is endless.  This is a woman who carries an infinity pool of compassion for her family, her two beautiful children, her friends and her community.  But somehow in all that, she forgot how to take care of her own emotional health and it caught up to her.

Teresa’s originally planned and paid for time in Mississippi is coming to an end but, as she told me on the phone, she still has more work to do.  She isn’t yet confident that she’s ready to go back to her life in the shape that it demands but as my friend has been forced to admin, Re-hab isn’t Free-hab.  Pride is a tricky thing and I know that she hated even exploring a GoFundMe as an option but part of being courageous is being able to swallow your pride and ask for help.

Teresa and I met in the blogging world back when we were both…young-ish-er and I know that I’m not the only person whose day has made better by her wit and wisdom (fortified, as she is fond of saying, with a healthy dose of sarcasm and profanity.)  I miss my friend.  If there is anything that you can do to help, please consider it.  This money will go directly to Teresa to help pay for another month in Mississippi so that she can rub the tarnish off her tiara of baddassery and get back to being Zube.

Thank you so much.
