Teresa's Initiation Through Cancer

Teresa Rousseau has been in service to the Sonoma Valley community for over 30 years as a marriage and family therapist. Her passion is eco –therapy, uncovering the innate relationship between our psyche and nature. She opened The Earth Dance Center for the Healing Arts in Sonoma in 1997, and since its Inception it has been a beacon for therapists as well as a gathering place for community events. Teresa has offered community gatherings, groups for women, girls and couples, films and discussion groups, and seasonal celebrations all in the spirit of building community and assisting people to find a sense of connection with themselves, each other and the earth.
Teresa is now asking the community for its support as she was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. While initially in disbelief, Teresa has come to view this as an initiation in which she can transform old patterns that have not served her and focus on her healing. She is actively engaged in her recovery, pursuing chemotherapy with an integration of CBDS and other alternative treatments. While Teresa's prognosis is good, she needs our support. Chemotherapy will likely make it difficult to carry her normal workload and there is the added financial burden of the cost of her treatment. The money we raise as a community will help Teresa to support her life while healing and will help her access the medical resources and support she needs.
Teresa is the very proud mother of her 21 year old daughter, Arianna, a senior at Berkeley majoring in public health and psychology. For Teresa,
being a mother to Arianna was the fulfilment of a life purpose. Her prayer is that she will heal her cancer and her life, and will be given the gift of time to write another chapter or two, to meet Arianna’s children and to complete her life dream and purpose.
Teresa has given so completely of herself to her community-now let’s join together to help her. Radical trust, deep abiding faith and we-her friends and family- are what will carry her through and across this threshold.
