Temporary Housing for Nigeria

Since 2007, the Norfolk Church of Christ has partnered with the Use Offot Church of Christ in Uyo, Nigeria to provide aid to widows and orphans through the AtMyGate program (AMG).

AMG provides medical care, school supplies, job skills training, microloans and other forms of assistance.

Those personally involved in this work in Nigeria see the growing need for a women & children’s shelter and are faithfully planning to build a facility that will allow them to better minister to these widows and their children. It will be temporary housing for them as the Church and AMG  assists them in becoming self-sufficient.





The cost for this project including the land will be $12-13,000. The Norfolk Church of Christ has agreed to try to raise $10,000 in donations (separate from the biannual $2500 that we send) from across the country for the construction of this shelter.  The Use Offot AMG committee will attempt to raise the rest of it.  The Use Offot AMG committee and several members of the Churches of Christ in that area have sought out a piece of land to purchase, have had the plans drawn up (which we have seen),have many skilled persons who have offered their labor to assist with building this shelter.
