Reflections and Gratitude
It was my birthday last week and time for a bit of reflection and Gratitude. As part of that, I want to take a moment to thank you all so much for being a part of my transformative tooth journey and making it possible.
This is just a quick update to let you know the status of my Teeth Journey and to let you know what your support has made a reality.
I am speaking well, my smile looks good, and the “hellish” part of the tooth ordeal is over!
I am looking forward to the next year as one of rebuilding my business, possibly in a new direction, getting started on my “Paying it Forward Scholarship Project” and just having some time when life is a bit easier- and possibly even a bit boring!
It has been quite an eventful year. I am pleased to report that the last surgery- which happened a bit less than a year ago was a success! I had some minor complications (of course) but mostly they were just painful and annoying rather than anything to be concerned about medically. It took almost 6 months for all the swelling to go down and getting the right fit on the new Dentures was a challenge. But everything is now in where it needs to be and is working.
My speech seems mostly fine. I still stumble over certain words a bit, but I don’t think most people notice. And I certainly don’t feel like it is anything that will harm my quality of life going forward. What a relief. I honestly spent months afraid I would never be able to write (or say) those words.
So, now I am just trying to get back to “normal” life. Whatever that is.
And things are still hard.
There are quite a few pieces to put back together. All told, this process took a bit more than 2 years. During that time, I took quite a bit of time off work for appointments, surgeries, and recoveries and was not doing my fully normal routine when I was working.
The result has been a significant income drop, a healthy chunk of Dental Debt I still need to pay off and what coaches call “Personal Foundation Matters” that I need to address. (It is amazing what putting off administrative chores for the business and repairs around the house for over 18 months can do. Not to mention the fact that for two years I was not doing the public speaking at professional networking groups thing- which has been where I get most of the clients for my coaching business. This stuff adds up!)
So, I am looking forward to the next year as one of rebuilding and getting back on track.
I am working to pay off the remaining dental debt, getting back into the public speaking rhythm now that I can- and building my business in a new direction that focuses more on group classes and less on 1-1 consulting.
I am also pleased to announce that I will be doing another Building Brilliance Conference for Solopreneurs and Freelancers on October 15th, 2018.
And, as a thank you to all that have helped me, and as a way to pay it forward and spread the love, I will be offering 10 scholarships to the conference paired with private coaching from me for Women and Minority business owners in need of fresh tools and strategy. More details on that to come.
In the meantime, I just wanted to update everyone and say THANK YOU. For your continued support!
