Teeny Turner’s abdominal hernia repair

We are Doodles and Doxies, and are coming to tell you about Teeny Turner. Teeny was born with an umbilical hernia, which normally isn’t an issue. At 5 weeks old it ballooned out the size of a small egg on her petite body. It was located higher on her chest than most belly button hernias, so 2 different vets declined their services to fix it, stating it was too close to her diaphragm for their level of confidence.

We found a surgeon who was willing to repair, and when the day of surgery came, a pre-surgery ultrasound was performed. He noticed her organs were in “communication” with each other and followed up with an X-ray, that revealed she had an abdominal hernia that allowed some of her organs to slip through to the lining/wall of her heart. She is currently in stable condition, but will need her surgery sooner rather than later.

We were prepared to pay for her original surgery of $2200, but now we have learned it’s a little bit more complicated, and the quote is currently $3500. We are telling her story in hopes that our followers will reach out with just $5 here or there to help put toward her surgery expenses. Even sharing her story would help!

Three vet visits so far have already racked up $700 with X-rays, ultrasounds, and consultation fees. Anything you can give will help cushion the difference so we can have her hernias fixed before they tear further or cause any other internal damage.

Teeny Turner is full of light and joy. Her tail never stops. She’s energetic, keeps up with all the other puppies, and will be a wonderful recipient of your kindness. We plan to place her in a loving home once we are confident that her repair has been healed and she’s 100% on her way to a full, healthy life! Until then, she is getting the best of care and all the attention as we crate train her, teach her tricks, and spoil her rotten bc she’s so tiny and cute!♥️
