Teen Hosting Art Exposé
Donation protected
My name is Maude and I’m a 19 year-old girl from Montreal who loves art.
A few years ago, I came up with the idea of hosting an art exposé on teen lives featuring the art and journals of teenagers from across the globe. I thought of it as a ‘bucket list’ kind of thing at first— something to do in the future. But how impactful would it be if I, at 30, hosted an exposé on teen lives?
Teenagers are extremely creative because at this age, we have such a unique perspective on the world around us. We are lingering in this small gap between childhood and adulthood. I want to capture these special fleeting moments. Countless movies and books have been made about us by adults, but I wanted a chance for myself and others to tell our own stories as teens. Our expression of what it’s like will never be more raw and accurate than it is now, simply because we’re going through it in this very moment.
I am requesting donations in an attempt to make this dream of mine come true. Given that I am a college student, receiving the funds for this via donations would help a lot. I require money for:
•the printing of the art that I’m receiving digitally,
•renting a space in which to host the event
•decorations (to create a warm, comfortable and interactive environment)
I want to have a space where visitors can sit and chat and listen to the speakers that will be invited in to discuss their own experiences. The aforementioned decorations would help to create this space, though a minimal amount of money will be spent on this comparatively as the art is truly the priority.
If you could donate even just a dollar to help this materialize I’d be infinitely grateful. Thank you.
P.S. I am currently only accepting local submissions, so if you are a Montreal teen that would like to contribute, you can contact me at [email redacted] ❤️
