Teegan's Funeral Expenses

Donation protected
Teegan was born July 3, 2002 and was immediately diagnosed with a metabolic disorder called Propionic Acedemia (PPA). Due to this, Teegan lacked the enzymes in his stomach to digest protein. When Teegan was first born, it was unrecognized and he was bottle fed formula just like any other newborn baby. Within a day, the protein from the formula caused Teegan to have permanent neurologic damage. Due to Teegan not having protein in his diet almost his entire life, he lacked muscle mass and the ability to walk or to talk. His first few months, and several more through out his lifetime were spent at Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City where he was cared for and studied by world renowned doctors who specialized in his disorder. Teegan taught so many people so much about this disorder and how to help others who are diagnosed with PPA, including his little brother Cohen, who was born in 2012 with the same disorder. Cohen was the first PPA patient to recieve a liver transplant when he was just a few months old. Fortunately for this, Cohen is able to digest proteins and live a less challenged life than Teegan was able to do.

Despite this compromised life Teegan was given with large challenges, Teegan was the happiest and strongest litle boy. He fought this battle and disorder, day in and day out his entire life with a smile on his face and a laugh that could light up anyone's bad day. Teegan had the kindest and most beautiful little spirit. Teegan was able to hold the deepest conversations with no verbal word and had such a positive energy that people just gravitated towards him.

Teegan passed away on Monday, May 1, 2017, where he stopped breathing at home in his mama's Aubrey's arms. Aubrey has lived her life each and every day for the last 14 years to be the best mom to Teegan and Cohen possible.

Aubrey is a single mom, working from home when possible while caring for Teegan and Cohen as a non paid full time caregiver to these two beautiful boys, including doctor appointments, physical therapy appointments and study appointments in between, are what her days have consisted of.

As her best friend, I know that Aubrey can use the help with his funeral expenses, which are close to about $7000 right now and family expenses to help her get by until she figures out what she needs to do from here. My goal is to raise $10,000 for Aubrey, Cohen and funeral expenses for Teegan.
Any amount possible would be greatly appreciated.
