Greetings Team Nitro Existing and Potential Supporters:

I am Pastor Nahshon “Nitro” Nicks. First and foremost, I would like to partner with you through my passion and calling in serving the kingdom of God and impacting our great community of Jacksonville, FL. Daily, I am thankful that God led me to my passion which is Martial Arts. Why? Because without God and Martial Arts, I would not be here to mentor or educate our youth. In other words, my passion saved my life and it is my hope and aspiration that this God given gift will be shared to save the lives of our youth. I've been told by several fellow Martial Artists that a youth Martial Art’s program could not flourish in a low-income predominantly African American community. At that time, my frustration fueled motivation to establish Team Nitro Youth Martial Arts. I am proud to say by the glory of God, we now have thirty plus students and counting along with several dedicated parents.

As our program grows we have added a second session to the classes that are being given twice weekly after school. Team Nitro Youth Martial Arts emphasizes education, fine motor skills, focus, discipline, respect for self and others, and taking ownership in addition to self-defense. For our youth, I am focused on grooming them to grow into good citizens in their schools, homes, and in our community. These children have surpassed most of our expectations. I am pleased and honored to teach them my passion as well as ignite hidden potential within them. With the current success of this program, it is my objective to obtain funding for a team vehicle to transport our youth to matches and competitions as well as field trips so that they can see and experience the depth of this vision, which in turn will positively impact their lives.

We would also be thankful for contributions towards safety and sparing equipment (i.e. head gear, mouth guards, Thai pads, rash guards, and a larger mat for practice). We are appreciative of any support of financial contributions received. I hope that whoever reads this see’s my passion and belief in our children and in Team Nitro.
