Friends and family.  I am starting this GoFundMe on behalf of Jodi Donkin.  This is Jodi's explanation from her Facebook page of what happened:

WOW! Where do I even begin! Monday, July 15 I woke up and drove over to Detroit for a work conference. Sometime around 1:30pm that afternoon I was sitting in the back of the room and I had a seizure. There were no signs leading up to this. My colleagues and the Detroit public school staff acted immediately and I was blessed to have a retired nurse in the room to know how to respond. My colleague rode in the ambulance with me and stayed at the hospital until family came. I then had a CAT Scan done which revealed a large tumor in the front left part of my skull. Of course the first words out of my mouth was that is not my head. Unfortunately, it was and they didn't make a mistake. They believe it has been growing most of my life. Crazy right! I had additional tests done and sat in ICU until they could do the surgery on Friday. They took me back at 6 am to start the prep and I didn't return until after 6pm. I can't even imagine how my family felt that entire time.  :( The tumor they removed was the best kind so that's positive.  :) Now I am on 2 different seizure medicines as I was still having tremors when I was out of surgery. We are hoping I don't have to be on them for longer than 6 mths to a year. I feel pretty good overall just need to manange some pain and build my strength back up. For those of you who really know me this will be the hardest part. I don't like taking pills and I like to be independent. But I need to give myself some grace so that I can heal properly and not have any set backs. According to David I have a pretty gnarly scar across my skull. Lol gotta love him. I feel so blessed and loved to be alive and want to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for the prayers, positive support, love, and all my angels in heaven that made sure I was in the right place at the right time for this to happen.

Why a GoFundMe?  Jodi doesn't have medical insurance.  As you can imagine, the costs of this care can be catastrophic.  I'm hoping to meet this fundraising goal and hopefully surpass it so that the stress of financial burden doesn't weigh so heavy on her mind.

We thank you in advance for any help you can give.
