My name is Chase Ivester. I am three years old, and I am fighting to kick cancer’s butt! Everyone says I'm one of the sweetest 3-year-olds you will meet. I am always smiling and never meet a stranger. I collect matchbox cars, monster trucks and tractors, and one of my favorite things is to ride with my daddy in his big truck. Last summer, Papa helped me hook my first fish when my family went to the beach, and I learned how to drive a boat with my cousins at Lake Martin. I love afternoons in the park feeding the ducks and barreling down the slide. But after a busy day, nothing beats curling up with mommy and watching the Avengers. My favorites are Superman, Batman and the Hulk. I think Paw Patrol toys are super! Hopefully, we can be friends, and you can join my team to help me fight and kick cancer's butt!
GooooooTeam Chase!

I have had a rough few days. For the last couple of months my mommy and daddy have been in and out of the doctors office, having testing done because my back hurt. During this time they were treating me for multiple illnesses like viruses, flu, and pneumonia. On Friday, March 21, 2018 since I was not getting 100% better, I visited a specialist who did x-rays and found something around my lung area, which was suspected as pneumonia. After 4 days of treating me for pneumonia, I started having more problems. The following Tuesday, daddy and I were cooking burgers outside waiting for mommy to get home. After a few minutes, I stopped playing, and I wanted my daddy to hold me. I sat in my tent chair until my mommy got home. When we went inside, I took a couple of steps before I started crying. I just wanted to be picked up and carried. My mommy and daddy immediately called my doctor, and they took me to the Texas Children's Hospital ER. Since Tuesday night 3/27/2018, the doctors have performed many different x rays, scans, MRIs, blood tests, and more I don't remember. They have found a mass/tumor 12cm long. It is in my spine which is the cause of my back and legs hurting, making it painful for me to walk. The doctors said the tumor is a type of cancer called High Risk Neuroblastoma of the thoracic region.

I began my chemo treatment on Monday, 4/2/18. I will be staying in the hospital for a few weeks for my first chemo treatments. Then I will begin 2 weeks at home and 1 week in the hospital for chemo treatments. I will continue this for 18 months. The last few days have been very difficult. Everyone in my family has been in my hospital room to help me get better. I just want to go home and run with my dogs and play in the dirt or throw the ball with my daddy. I've been really excited about playing baseball in the summer. The doctors said I can't play for at least 18 months. I also won't be able to go to school either.

I don't understand what is happening, and I want to go home. Please let me know you are on my team.

My family wants everyone to know they appreciate your prayers, support, and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for getting to know me and help me fight!

My parents are Heather and Justin Ivester.
