Team USA Italy Trip
Donation protected
When I was 13, I joined Taft Football. I played flag football, but tackle for only one year prior. I was amazing at flag football, but I feel like that's because I didn't get hit, so obviously tackle was a big jump for me. I hate to admit it, but I was scared and trembling in my cleats. When I arrived on the first day of practice, it was apparent that I was the smallest player there, I knew that I had to work harder than everyone else. Whether it was in the weight room or on the field, I put forth my best effort in the hopes that it would pay off come season. Regrettably it didn't and I was just another cheerleader in full gear. I was still too small, but I didn't let my play-time deter my heart. I was one of the loudest people on the sideline cheering on my team because it was the only thing I could do to help us win. I guess our head coach noticed because the next year, I was starting. I was happy, but never got complacent, everyday and every single time I stepped foot on that field I poured my heart out trying to get better and each year (using this formula) I have. I went from no play-time whatsoever, to seven-time devensive player of the game, Division 1 First Team All Defense, and the Scholar-Athlete Award recipient. Additionaly, I was offered to culminate my high school career by playing for the AFW Elite USA Football Team in Italy this upcoming spring, but I do not have the funds to help support this honor I have recieved. I have come so far in my journey as an athlete and I would be devastated if the oppourtunity to play the sport I love was taken away because of money. Any donation amount with help me reach my goal and I thank you in advance for your help so that I can represent the USA. God Bless.
