Team Steve

Team Steve was created to honor our beloved Steven Petro and keep his memory alive. Steve passed away in September of 2002 after a courageous battle with brain cancer. In the spring of 2003, a scholarship was created in his name and has been given annually to a graduating Newton High School senior who demonstrates Steve's commitment to academics and athletics. We also make a $500 annual contribution to the upkeep of Steve’s Make a Wish tank at Memorial Sloan Kettering. It is the first thing the pediatric patients and families see when entering and a source of great joy for the kids.
