Team Shelby J

Shelby Jernigan - the strongest 6 year old ever! She's in her 2nd fight with Brain cancer. Her ependymoma was discovered Feb. 2016. She underwent brain surgery followed with 32 rounds of radiation. In June 2017, her original tumor returned along a new tumor. She did 30 rounds of radiation, and began chemo. January 2018 the side effects of radiation appeared. Shelby's left side began to weaken, by February she was falling frequently and was admitted to Children's Hospital. She has a spot of inflammation that continues to worsen. She can not stand or sit up alone. She uses a walker and/or has to be in a wheelchair. Her side effects compare to that of a stoke; weaking side and drooping mouth. Shelby is currently on 12 medications. She soon will be starting HBO therapy, we will go to UAB five days a week for 20-40 days. We , her parents, (Troy & Rosalyn (Parton) Jernigan are with Shelby daily. If your heart tells you to donate the money will be used for Shelby. We need to remodel the bathroom to make it handicap accessible . Hug those you love, life changes in an instance.
